So the Health Department is telling us that we have nothing to fear from mold.

This is an official agency of the government so we should believe them right?

WRONG........LET ME GIVE YOU A HISTORY LESSON

On Sept. 16, 2001, Christie Whitman as Director of the EPA said that tests showed air pollution levels "that cause us no concern."

Two days later, she said she was glad to reassure New York and Washington residents that their air and water were safe.

As we all know this was a lie and the government knew that their was a danger working or living near Ground Zero.

As the years passed and more and more recovery workers and first responders as well as residents became ill a group of victims took Christie Whitman and the EPA to court.

In 2007 the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York found that former EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman's falsely reassuring and misleading statements of safety after the September 11, 2001 attacks were "without question conscience-shocking." The court also found the facts "support an allegation of a violation of the substantive due process right to be free from official government policies that increase the risk of bodily harm" by Whitman's misstatements regarding the air quality of the affected area.

So the judge stated that it was true that Whitman lied and that she violated due process and that her actions increased the risk of bodily harm to those who believed.

This is what the judge said but as the sayings go actions speak louder than words because the judge threw out the case against Whitman and the DEP.

Why? Because he did not want to set a dangerous precedent that would make public officials afraid to make statements in the future

So the courts basically stated that government officials can lie and put us at risk and we have no recourse.

The head of the Environmental Protection Agency that reports directly to the President can not be held responsible for lying to the people she was being paid to protect.

So don't be fooled again.

The government wants everyone to think that Sandy Recovery is going along smoothly and that everything ins OK.

If they admitted there was a mold problem they would have to do something.

So they say there is no problem (when everyone knows there is) and when they are proven wrong as people get sicker and die they already have judicial precedent that basically gives them a get out of jail free card.

We cannot allow this to happen.

If it means getting our own experts in that is what we need to do.

The government is ignoring the issue to paint a prettier recovery picture and they know the court will back them up.

No one should have to suffer or die as they did after 9/11 just because the government wants to turn a blind eye to a serious problem.

Please stand with us and let them know that we won't be fooled again

Dennis
