Do Human Remains Belong in the 9/11 Museum? - We say "NO!"
(especially in light of recent Museum flooding from hurricane Sandy!)
- ALL 9/11 WTC families of the victims must have input -
Join us for our day in court:"Speak Now ....or Forever Hold Your Peace !"
WHAT: 9/11 family members return to have their day in Court - January 9, 2013 - to appeal and reiterate their request for a list of contact information for all 2,749 WTC families. The sole purpose is to inform them and to seek the input of each family - into the City's plan to place Human Remains in the flood prone basement of the 9/11 museum.
WHEN: Wednesday, January 9, 2013
WHERE: New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division
27 Madison Ave ( corner of E. 25th ) NYC
12:30 PM Press Conference
1:30 PM Enter Court House
2:00 - 2:30 PM Court Proceeding
Oral Arguments will be heard re: our appeal of the denial of Freedom of Information Law requests for a list of contact information for the family members of the people killed at the WTC on 9/11/01.
WHY: This is the last opportunity for 9/11 Families to have the right to be fully informed and to provide input into the final resting place for their beloved lost loved ones. It is the opportunity to speak out for their right to decide how their loved ones' remains will be honored and interred for all eternity. This is the opportunity to express the right to free speech for families and self - determination regarding just "who owns the dead ?"
Should it be Mayor Bloomberg & 9/11 museum head Joe Daniels - or the Families of the 9/11 Victims........?
We want the same level of input & decision-making that all families had at Shanksville PA and the Pentagon sites regarding the final disposition of human remains. It is the right of each WTC family member to approve or reject the current plan. The 2,749 families were never asked for their input or approval in this matter. No 9/11 "family group leaders" or "board members" were ever authorized to make decisions re the final resting place of other people's loved ones in a museum.
Join us to honor and respect our loved ones on Jan 9th!
Bring photos of your loved one if you wish.
