From Apr 13, 2012 to Apr 28, 2012 (included)
|Dear 9/11 Families,
The arraignment of the 9/11 accused has been set for Saturday, May 5, 2012. The defense has the right to request a continuance, so that date could move to later in the month. I will notify you immediately if that occurs.
Thank you for responding to all of the emails that I sent to you last week! The VWAP staff is working through all of them and updating your information in our database.
The Fort Meade credentialing visit for tomorrow is CANCELLED. Several of you wrote that you would not be able to attend, and only two responded "yes." We will either reschedule a group credentialing for another day or ask you to let us know a date that you are available. We will work with the installation to ensure you are taken care of quickly.
If you wish to participate in the random selection process and travel to Cuba with us, please ensure that you have a passport that has not expired. Personal passports are valid for ten years; official passports for five years. You may use either type of passport to travel to GTMO.
Yesterday, a number of pre-trial motions were concluded in the al-Nashiri (USS COLE) case in Guantanamo Bay. To link to the OMC webpage and read the unauthenticated transcripts of those proceedings, please follow the following link: http://www.mc.mil/CASES/MilitaryCommissions.aspx
Please continue to monitor the OMC webpage. Press releases and videos of press briefings of the USS COLE hearings should be available in the next couple of business days.
