Dear 9/11 Families,

This email provides you with information regarding your opportunity to view the 9/11 proceedings at four Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) sites for Victim Family Members (VFMs) in the United States. These four sites will be operational and available to you for the arraignment and all subsequent pretrial and trial sessions.

Closed Circuit Television Sites For VFMs

The sites are located on four military installations along the east coast of the United States: Fort Devens, MA (approximately 40 miles west of Boston); Fort Hamilton, in Brooklyn, NY; Joint Base Maguire/Dix/Lakehurst (off of the New Jersey Turnpike); and Fort Meade, MD (between Washington and Baltimore). For more detailed information, please visit our webpage at the link below, and log onto the site with your user name and password (please see my previous email for information on how to obtain a password). You will find directions to the base, pictures of the facilities, and lodging and restaurants available both on and off the installations.

https://www.mc.mil/VICTIMWITNESSASSISTANCE/VictimandFamilyMemberContactInformation.aspx. This link requires a user name and password. If you have already requested one, you should receive the information shortly. It is taking 2 business days to process the requests.

Only those VFMs having proper credentials issued by the Office of Military Commissions (OMC) will be allowed access to the CCTV VFM sites. OMC credentials will also serve as badges which will allow you to enter the military installation. You will need a badge/OMC credential for each location that you plan to attend. If you received credentials in 2008, they are no longer valid.

Eligible family members include spouses, legal guardians, parents, grandparents, children or siblings of those deceased, or those injured in the attacks.

There will also be a CCTV site for the general public at Ft. Meade that may include members of the media or family members who do not qualify for entrance to a VFM site. For more information on that site, please click on this hyperlink: http://www.ftmeade.army.mil/pao/commissions/index.html. You do not need credentials for the public site at Fort Meade.

Although media may be present on or near the base, they will not have access to the VFM site. As always, if you are not interested in speaking with the media, we will do our best to ensure your privacy is respected, but please recognize that we cannot prevent members of the media from speaking to you in public places. If you are interested in speaking with the media, we can assist you in making contact.

Victim Witness and Assistance Program (VWAP) staff and members of the OMC Convening Authority's Office will host a credentialing visit at each of the installations. We will be available to walk you through the process. If you cannot be available during this visit, please contact OMC VWAP to schedule a different credentialing appointment. If you are traveling from out of town, we will work with you to get you credentialed on the day of the first proceeding you attend.

To make a reservation for any of the credentialing visits, please contact us at victim.travel@osd.mil
