This proposed legislation could help all Americans and hamper the funding of terrorism

Please read and contact your senators
And Pass ON

Dear 9/11 Family members, Survivors and Friends:

The recent death of Osama bin Laden marks the end of an important chapter in the aftermath of 9/11, but does not end our continuing mission: to hold responsible all of those who financed, enabled and abetted the murderers of our loved ones and caused injury to the survivors.

The importance of JASTA (Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act) cannot be underestimated. It is definitive legislation, originally introduced last Congress by former Senator Arlen Specter, and now supported by Senators Schumer (NY) and Lindsey Graham (SC), with additional strong interest from Senator Grassley (IA), that will reverse erroneous lower court decisions and break through the veil of protection and secrecy the 9/11 criminal enablers have enjoyed for all these years. Because of several unfortunate and misinformed lower court decisions, to this day they continue to operate protected while supporting and financing terrorism.

It is up to us now to implore these senators, as well as the leadership of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where the bill is anticipated to be introduced, to take action NOW to reintroduce JASTA and place it on the calendar for a vote, so that the truth can prevail and future enablers can be held accountable to the full extent of the law. Since its original introduction, the bill has been vetted and revised to account for possible legitimate concerns about the initial language. The only thing that remains is for public support to press the legislators to make passage of the bill a priority.

To accomplish this we need to take action as individuals, as families of the victims, survivors and friends, as citizens, by contacting the senators – including Senators Charles Schumer, Lindsey Graham, Chuck Grassley, and Patrick Leahy – asking them to restart the process of getting JASTA carved into law NOW.

Please see the below email that you can simply cut and paste into a new email. Because Senators now all use web forms to accept emails, the website addresses for each senator’s web form is included below; just cut and paste the email into the form on each site and fill in the contact information request in each form. Please sign your email to them and include the name of your loved one or if you are a survivor or a concerned citizen. It is critical that we, as a body of voters and supporters, family members, survivors and friends, contact these senators now and insist that the bill get enacted before the ten year anniversary. Otherwise, JASTA may languish for years or not happen at all. That would be a terrible signal to sponsors of terrorism and a pass we will live to regret.

Also, you can visit our website at: http://justiceagainstterrorism.yolasite.com/ Please join us in this immensely important initiative.

Thank you.
