WHERE TO TURN
TOY DRIVE FOR TORNADO VICTIMS
The recent tornadoes have devastated areas throughout the United States. While it will take months and even years for families to rebuild we want to do our part to help them in a small way.
As we did after 9/11, Katrina and the Haiti Disaster we have developed a plan to address some longer term needs.
We realize that many of these impacted families will have to spend all their resources rebuilding and when the holidays roll around there will be no money for toys for the children.
To help in a small way we will be collecting toys from now through November and will arrange to have them delivered directly to the impacted areas for the holidays.
We will also be coordinating the adoption of some of the schools in these areas by schools in New York and will coordinate the collection and shipment of school supplies in September.
We are looking for sponsors and participants as well as drop off locations to help support this effort.
As of today the following elected officials and businesses have offered their offices as drop off locations
Congressman Michael Grimm, Senator Andrew Lanza, Senator Diane Savino, Assemblywoman Nicole Mialliotakis, Assemblyman Matthew Titone, Assemblyman Lou Tobacco, Assemblyman Michael Cusick, Councilwoman Debra Rose, Councilman James Oddo, Councilman Vincent Ignizio, R.H. Tugs, Canlonís Restaurant, The Great Kills UPS Store, Gusto Restaurant and Jimmy Maxx
