|Communication Notice from Chief Prosecutor, Office of Military Commissions for 9/11 Trials
April 4, 2011
Dear 9/11 Families,
Today, the Attorney General announced that the 9/11 accused would be tried in a military commission. In the near future, the Office of the Chief Prosecutor intends to swear charges against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Walid Bin 'Attash, Ramzi Binalshibh, Ali Abdul Aziz Ali, and Mustafa al Hawsawi for their alleged roles in the September 11, 2001 attacks. As the Chief Prosecutor, I intend to recommend the charges be sent to a military commission for a joint trial.
Although we have email and mailing addresses for some of the 9/11 families, we want to include as many of the families as possible in these communications. Please share this communication with other 9/11 families that you know. If you have not done so before, please email or call Karen Loftus at the number below, and include the following information:
1. Your name;
2. The name of your loved one, and his/her relationship to you;
3. Your mailing address;
4. Your email address; and
5. Your telephone numbers.
If you desire, OMC VWAP will include you in our database and put you on the email distribution list. If you do not have email, we will communicate with you via first class mail.
We will contact you again as soon as we can provide additional information. We look forward to working with all of you in the future.
