Ground breaking for our 9/11 responder's remembered park this nations first of its kind
WPIX 11 News INTERVIEw from 3/23/11 - (video): http://tinyurl.com/4bgr7k7
This nations great days of heroism come too often; sometimes on foreign shores and sometimes in hemispheres not seen with the human eye. This nations greatest day for heroism in recent memory was in New York City on September 11, 2001. The FealGood Foundation has made it their mission to make sure this day and its heroes are forever in our hearts and minds and depicted in our parks.
The Ground Breaking for the 911 Responders Remembered Park is on 4/3/2011 in Nesconset. With the generosity of many kind Americans we are confident we will reach our goal of $100,000.00 to build this park.
We are proud that Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Suffolk County Legislator John Kennedy and many other elected officials will raise their gold shovels and turn over the dirt on Park land that will greet the widows and families of the entire 9/11 Community.
This park will have a beautiful wall, a handsome clock and memories from Ground Zero. The wall will be a living wall, with the ability to add more heroes names as, tragically, the need arises. These heroes are not only from New York and not only from the United States, but the names of each and every person we know of from all over the world that came here to search and rescue in the days and weeks after September 11th. The clock, thanks to the substantial fidelity of its benefactor, will stand tall as a reference for all who pass.
We know the days coming will allow us to bring so much to recognize these heroes; but let us first take the steps needed to bring this Park to fruition.
Join us on April 3rd for our Walk-a-Thon, our BBQ and our Ground Breaking.
