to Attend Celebration of New 9/11 Health Law
-Event in D.C. to Honor Govt & Labor Leaders, 9/11 Responders & Survivors, and WTC Contractors Who Waged Long Battle to Secure Passage of Zadroga Act-
Washington, D.C. On Tuesday, January 25th, U.S. Reps. Carolyn Maloney, Jerrold Nadler, and Peter King, and Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer will attend a reception organized by the New York State AFL-CIO and the World Trade Center contractors to honor the coalition of government and labor leaders and 9/11 responders and survivors who waged a successful, multi-year campaign to secure the passage of H.R. 847, the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.
The Zadroga Act provides health care for those exposed to toxins released by the collapse of the World Trade Center towers, and reopens the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund to provide economic relief to those harmed by the attacks.
WHO: Reps. Maloney, Nadler, and King; Senators Gillibrand and Schumer; Representatives of the NYS AFL-CIO and other unions; Steve Cassidy, President of the Uniformed Firefighters Association; Richard Alles of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association; Richard Wood, President of WTC contractor Plaza Construction; John Feal of the FealGood Foundation; and 9/11 first responders and survivors of the attacks.
