WTC Responder Day 2010





Saturday, June 5th





A day honoring the courageous workers and volunteers who performed rescue, recovery and clean-up following the 9/11 attacks

on the World Trade Center



Anticipated free events throughout the day in lower Manhattan

for responders, their families, co-workers and friends include:

Procession
Opening Ceremony
Letters & Concert: A Tribute to Responders
Mini Film Festival
Art & Music Workshops
Mural Painting
Wellness Activities
Archiving
Gallery Exhibitions

Closing Ceremony

Antique Responder Car Procession
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
A procession from the 1st Police Precinct to a bagpipe welcome at St. Pauls Chapel

(View the procession beginning at Worth St and Broadway)



Opening Ceremony

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

St. Pauls Chapel (Broadway and Fulton St)
Witness welcoming remarks honoring responders from elected officials, labor, and the community



Mini Film Festival

12:30 PM - 4:00 PM

New York City Police Museum (100 Old Slip)

Feel the spirit of community with documentaries on WTC responders, both worker and volunteer

About an hour each, expected films include, in order, Metal of Honor, Heart of Steel, and 9/12



Mural Painting
12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
St. Pauls Chapel (Broadway and Fulton St)
Join other responders and the community in painting a giant Responder Day mural



9/11 Letters and Concert Music: A Tribute to Responders

2:45 PM - 5:15 PM

St. Pauls Chapel (Broadway and Fulton St)

Hear responders read letters from 9/11, and music that includes performances by responders

Led by Mike Sheehan, journalist and former member of the NYPD



Music and Art Workshops
Music 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM / Art 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Millenium Hilton (55 Church St)
Participate with Feel the Music! in drumming and art workshops (all ages)

Ear Acupuncture, Bodywork & Stress Reduction
1:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Enjoy a range of relaxing wellness activities, including acupuncture provided by CRREW



Archiving

12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

National September 11 Memorial & Museum Preview Site (20 Vesey St)
