( John Jay College will hold the seminar on the 6th Floor of this building.)



Presenters:



David Kelly, Lieutenant - Commander Detective Squad

NYPD Counterterrorism Division / Threat Reduction/Infrastructure Protection Section



Lt. Kelly will discuss design features of high-rise buildings which can make a building safer for its occupants during emergency evacuations. The NYPD presentation will be based on the recent publication entitled: "Engineering Security"



Norman Groner, Ph.D. Department of Protection Management,
John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY)- will discuss his work on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Elevator Committee - designing elevator systems for evacuation of high-rise buildings under fire conditions



Jack Murphy, Adjunct Faculty Member, John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY),

Consultant, and Representative of The Fire Safety Directors Association of NY
-will discuss recent code and regulatory requirements
