Dear Lower Manhattan Community Member,

In addition to monthly progress reports about the 130 Liberty Street deconstruction project, we will be using e-updates to release periodic information about project milestones.

Deconstruction of 130 Liberty Street as February 18, 2009.

Deconstruction Activities

Contractor Bovis Lend Lease is continuing deconstruction of the 21st floor concrete slab and 21st floor steel columns and beams. Removal of the remaining steel beams on the 22nd floor is more than 94 percent complete.

Bovis is scheduled to remove another two sections of the tower crane on Sunday, February 21st. Bovis successfully removed two sections of the tower crane on Sunday, February 14th.

On Monday, February 15th, the hoist was lowered from servicing the 17th floor to servicing the 15th floor. The standpipe was lowered from the 20th floor to the 19th floor.

Carpenters are continuing the installation of scaffolding protection on the 17th floor.

Work was halted late Tuesday after the hoist produced sparks because of weather. Work resumed late Wednesday after repair work corrected the problem.
