To All,

We only collected 25 shirts today but they were important as they came from the Sisters of Charity from Richmond Hill NY.

We also got a call from a Jewish Youth Group called USY and they will be collecting shirts from all of their members.

P.S. 69 will be collecting shirts through a drive coordinated by third grader Brian Lu.

The principal of the JV Forrestal School in Beacon NY is discussing the possibility of doing a district wide collection with their Superintendent.

Archbishop Molloy High School in Queens has joined the effort as has Tottenville High School.

We will be picking up the shirts collected by the Academy of St. Dorothy tomorrow and will begin making regular rounds of the drop off locations on Staten Island.

We could use some volunteers.

Finally we will be coordinating with the JCC to pick up the shirts and donations they have collected so far.

To date we have approximately 10,000 (2,600 packed) on hand and another 7,500 committed.

We have raised $250

We still need some help getting to the Fire Commissioner.

We really need some volunteers for next Saturday as we really need to get all the on hand shirts sorted and packed.

Finally we are also going to need volunteers at the end of the month to drive to the off Island locations to pick up shirts.

If you are available give me a call 718-966-6531.

Keep spreading the word

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children offers tips on keeping children safe:
  • Make sure you know where each of your children is at all times.
  • Be involved in their activities and give them lots of attention and supervision.
  • Listen to them, especially if they talk about people they don't want to be around.
  • Teach them they can say no to unwelcome actions or touching by others.
  • Be sensitive to changes in their behavior or attitudes.
  • Screen babysitters and caregivers. Check references and sexual offender registries.
