To All,

The year started off well for us at Where to Turn.

We received calls from Rabs and Assemblyman Cusick’s office that re-gifts are starting to come in.

Re-Gifts continue to flow in at 150-L Greaves as well.

I spoke to Rev Troia and Project Hospitality will be taking the portable bed, the stereo and the projection TV.

Our friend Chris Laudando dropped off a ton of used clothes in great condition for which we will find a home and we also will be getting another used TV in good condition from our friend Carol Freund if you know a family in need.

Since it is too cold out to do cleanups we will be helping Project Homefront each Saturday sorting items to be shipped to soldiers overseas.

We sent out letters today to all our local officials asking for support of our programs as well as the Hearts and Hands Memorial and are hoping for a positive response.

We are hoping that one of your New Year’s resolutions will be to support Where to Turn or one of the other local not for profits.

Finally we need everyone to contact their local Senator or Representative and tell them to get off their buts and pass the 9/11 Health Bill which they have ignored for the past year while they fought over National Health Care.

We need to let them know that we will not continue to be lied to and that our votes will be our response if they do not act on this bill immediately.

There will be a rally on Tuesday the anniversary of the death of James Zadroga at Ground Zero.

But I am sorry. I am tired of hearing these elected officials stating time and time again at these events that they will get this bill passed and then do nothing.

Enough of this political grandstanding. It is time to act.

The inaction of all of them and in particular Nancy Pelosi has been a disgrace as they have allowed first responders to continue to die while they played their political games.
