Many of you have already planned on attending the oral arguments. I just received notice that the date has been changed!!!! Everything remains the same except the date is now: Wednesday, December16,2009
Our Attorney assures us the date will not change again. In addition, we seem to be the last of 6 scheduled cases. We cannot be sure, but it seems we will not be heard until 11:00 a.m. Our attorneys will be given only a short time, and the decision will probably not be rendered on this day in this court room. HOWEVER, your attendance will help show the judges that we do indeed feel this is an issue of utmost concern and that we have a strong support. Bless you all for your patience.
Wishing you some degree of peace, Diane Horning

ACTION ALERT

Court of Appeals, oral arguments for WTC Families for Proper Burial, Inc.

Date: Wednesaday, December 16, 2009

Time: 10 am (arrive Ĺ hour earlier for security screening)

Place: United States District Court
Southern District of New York
Daniel Patrick Moynihan
United States Courthouse
500 Pearl Street
New York, NY 10007-1312

Ceremonial Court room, 9th floor

You have not heard from us in a long time. Essentially we have been waiting for a scheduled time for oral arguments in our appeal demanding the proper burial of all the September 11th dead. Leaving our dead in the Fresh Kills garbage dump is an atrocity and a national disgrace. We need as many as possible to be present in court to show that this is an issue of utmost and universal importance.

While we have been waiting for this date, please know that several families have been working tirelessly on this issue. We have met with the Port Authority, President Obama, Vice President Bidenís office, The Department of Defense and offices of several State Senators. We have been directed to the Department of Justice, and are pursuing that meeting as well.

We have the sympathy of all the above, but still face the obstruction of the City of New York. The City insists that the proper burial of our dead is NOT IMPORTANT; they continue to obscure the facts and dishonor the dead.

This date, beginning a weekend and so close to the holidays, will make your attendance difficult. But, please, we must show the strength of your support and the spirit of all the WTC victims massacred on September 11, 2001 and dishonored by the City of New York.
