9/11 TRIBUTE STEEL BEAM SIGNING EVENT IN WASHINGTON, DC
Public Invited to Sign Steel Beams to be used in the National 9/11 Memorial Construction and to Write “Notes of Hope” to be Preserved in Memorial Museum in NYC
First Responders and Representatives from 9/11 Memorials in New York, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon to Participate in Opening Ceremony at the Newseum
On Friday, July 3, at 10:00 am, a 9/11 Tribute steel beam signing event will open outside the Newseum in Washington, DC. First responders and representatives from the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon Memorial Fund, and the Flight 93 National Memorial, will participate in a ceremony to open the event. The beam signing events will be open July 3 and 4 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm both days, with the public invited to sign steel beams to be used in the construction of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, share their thoughts and reflections on 9/11 through “Notes of Hope,” and preview plans for the project under construction at the World Trade Center site.
Since 2007, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum has traveled around the country to 27 cities in 27 states with steel beams, and tens of thousands of people have become a part of history by signing their names and sharing their thoughts and reflections on 9/11 through “Notes of Hope.”
The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is currently under construction at the World Trade Center site, with more than 50% of steel already installed. The Memorial is expected to open on September 11, 2011.
