Hearts and Hands Memorial

http://www.where-to-turn.org/phpBB2/index.php?c=21

Dear Friends,

The Facebook recruits keep signing up and we now have over 2,500 members in just over a week.

Unfortunately we have not even raised $1,000

In order to get this memorial built we will need both recruits and donations.

We have listed some options below.

If you cannot afford to donate now we ask that you make a pledge to donate later in the year.

Finally for those who cannot afford a donation we ask you to do one of the following.

Donate a pint of blood

Get on the bone marrow registry

Or

Sign up for a volunteer effort in your neighborhood.

We will be organizing a blood/bone marrow drive on Staten Island through Where to Turn in the Spring and we will also be posting volunteer opportunities on the Where to Turn website at www.where-to-turn.org

How to Help

We are going to continue a grass roots fundraising campaign and are asking all our recruits who can afford to contribute $10 as we would like to raise $10,000 a month as our enrollment grows.

Donate to 9/11 Hearts and Hands Memorial

https://www.causes.com/fb/donati ...

We will also work with our architect Rich Pierce to set aside a section of the Memorial where every $10 donor will be featured.

We will continue to offer the "Unbearable Pain" "Unbreakable Bond" print by Scott LoBaido for every $25 donation.

I also spoke to Corey Gammel the owner of the quilt and the co-founder of the United in Memory Foundation and he has asked us to offer a United in Memory 9/11 Victims Memorial Quilt DVD to anyone who contributes $100.

We have not been receiving many 8 x 10 photos for the Corridor of Memories. If you know any 9/11 families please make them aware of this effort.

We also have special 9/11 projects that were put together by students in Michigan for 9/11 families available at no charge.

Any interested 9/11 family need only ask.

Keep spreading the word and thanks again for your support.

“Lest We Forget”

Dennis

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children offers tips on keeping children safe:
  • Make sure you know where each of your children is at all times.
  • Be involved in their activities and give them lots of attention and supervision.
  • Listen to them, especially if they talk about people they don't want to be around.
  • Teach them they can say no to unwelcome actions or touching by others.
  • Be sensitive to changes in their behavior or attitudes.
  • Screen babysitters and caregivers. Check references and sexual offender registries.
