We have modified our homepage to make it easier to access our most popular forums and links including our volunteer and grant opportunities as well as our OP ED pieces.
We will also be expanding our support services section. If you would like your organization to be added to our Crisis Relief Network please forward a brief description and a link to your website. Please include the Category under which you would like your organization listed.
We currently have over 800 organizations linked
Also feel free to register at our homepage. Registered users will be given the ability to post events on our calendar and items in our forums.
Additional changes will be made as needed.
Hearts and Hands Memorial
We have received the paper work from HUD for our $468,000 grant and will have it completed this week.
As soon as we receive the check we will move forward with preliminary work including site inspection and cleanup.
We are getting formal design work completed and hope to have a formal presentation in place by 9/11 of this year.
Upon receipt of the $500,000 committed by Senator Lanza we will move into our formal fundraising cycle to raise the other $5.5 Million needed.
We will also be reaching out to our local Assemblyman and City Council members for additional support.
We are still collecting 8 x 10 photos for our Corridor of Memories.
We are currently reach out to Oprah and Extreme Makeover for assistance

"After the Towers Fell"
So much, both good and bad, has occurred since the attacks that we have decided to put together a book detailing the events since 2001.
It will be from the perspective of those who have been closely involved and it will be an honest account of the last seven years.
We will be reaching out to family members, support groups as well as our media contacts and elected officials for input.

If we actually get this published proceeds will go to support the Hearts and Hands Memorial
Academic All County Awards.
This program continues to grow and we will be honoring over 200 High School seniors who have participated in a Varsity sport and have maintained a 90% GPA in their junior and senior years at a ceremony at St. Johns on 5/28.
If your son or daughter are eligible that should be in receipt of an invitation. To date 11 of our local High Schools are participating.
If your son or daughter has not received an invitation please contact their school directly.
"Changing the Face of Staten Island" Graffiti Removal
We are closing in on 100 locations cleaned. Weekly cleanups will be schedule throughout the summer.
Still no word on access to the Clean Team truck. Sites that we cant do are piling up.
We received a $5,000 grant from the District Attorney's Office and we are going to purchase an industrial power washer. Grant requests to all local stores have gone unanswered. We are going to see if we can get a discount from one of the New Jersey Home Depots that is shutting down.
As soon as we receive the $2,500 grant from Northfield Bank we will pursue the development of our PSA's
In the meantime we are looking for students to put together anti-graffiti videos for U-Tube
We are still looking for a venue for our Town Hall meeting and could use some help.
Victoria Larsen continues to be a great help in obtaining vouchers for paint and supplies.
Still looking for schools and civic and community groups to get involved.
We are hoping to speak at all three Community Boards as well as at a Chamber of Commerce Meeting
On 5/28 the students at PS 37 are presenting us with Penny Harvest money that they collected to help combat graffiti.
We are still looking for sponsors for additional murals that we would like to have completed by the Fourth of July.

We have over 10,500 signatures on our petition and are still in the planning stages for a trip to DC.
Snow Shoveling for Seniors
Certificates of Community Service from Where to Turn and Letters of Recognition from the Borough President were sent this week to the nearly 550 students who participated in the program.
Re-Gifting for a Good Cause
We are still looking for a venue to hold our Flea Market as we have over 2,500 items available for sale. All proceeds will go to support Where to Turn Community Programs
