6 Volunteers needed for each outing
Outings are from 8:00 AM to Noon on Saturdays or Sundays in Oct - Nov
Students can participate in any of our planned outings.
All volunteers receive community service credit (5 hours per outing)
Interested student volunteers should call 718-619-2371 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Schools or groups can also coordinate their own outings or adopt an area or street near their school. We will supply the paint and materials. (thanks to a grant from The DA's Office)
Help Identify Locations
Students can receive one hour of community service credit for each business or home that they get to sign up for graffiti removal. (A signed waiver by the property owner is required do do any paint overs or graffiti removal)
Students can contact us at email@example.com with the phone number of the store or home owner.
The Great Grate Project
We are looking for high school or college students to participate in an effort to remove graffiti from store security grates in there neighborhoods.
We are looking for students to identify and sign up businesses.
We will schedule a weekend in the Fall and paint over the graffiti at all the identified locations. This is take place in the evening.
All participants will receive community service credits and prizes will be awarded to the school with the most completed locations.
We are also looking for elected officials who are running for office to supply some campaign volunteers to participate in at least one outing.
We have made arrangements with a local paint store and they will tint white paint to whatever color we need. They will also supply us with an unlimited supply of tan paint as well. We are going to approach the Sanitation Department for their excess white paint. If anyone has other sources please let us know.
We have a limited supply of non toxic (all natural) marker remover which will remove marker or paint from vinyl fences without damaging them.
We are looking for contributions to purchase additional supplies. We are also looking for donations from local businesses to grow the program.
We have in the past and will continue to work with any civic or community or government group to coordinate additional programs.
We hope this will help with the workload already placed on the Mayor's and Borough President's Graffiti Teams.
We are looking for submissions for 3 murals to be commissioned this Spring.
Submissions should depict the history of Staten Island or promote community outreach.
These could also be group or school projects.
Anyone interested can call us at 718-619-2371
