|As everyone knows by now the city has decided to move the the 9/11 ceremony this year off site from Ground Zero.
Once again as they have in the past the city has decided, without consulting any family groups, what is best.
The cloud of secrecy once again surrounds their decisions while they continue to claim full disclosure in WTC matters.
One example of what they consider full disclosure is the fact that despite repeated requests they have not told us how many of the over 1,500 new remains recovered over the past 18 months have been sent for testing.
They continue to send convoluted updates that create more confusion instead of supplying straight forward answers to our questions.
They have the audacity to state that the reason for the movement of the ceremony is "because the safety and well being of all family members and attendees is our top priority"
If safety was an issue at all the site would not be being constructed outside the jurisdiction of both NYC Building and Fire codes.
There is only one reason for the move and it is the same reason behind all of the decisions at Ground Zero.
They do not want to stop construction for even one day to make the site available for the ceremony.
The same reason the original search for remains was never conducted properly and the same reason the NYC codes are not being followed.
The same reason that we are still finding remains today.
The same reason we can pay lawyers but not health claims.
We would love to see how much has been spent by the LMDC and WTC Foundation as it appears there is enough money for those purposes but none for things that matter.
Or should we say things that matter to us.
This is just another example of how they are trying to erase the memory of 9/11 and remove the 9/11 family aspect from what is going on at Ground Zero.
One just has to remember the mayor's position on the placement of names on the memorial. In his opinion the memorial is not only about the victims.
Unfortunately it is not and just like everything else about Ground Zero it is about the money.
Put It Above Ground
