It is truly amazing what headlines one might find in the papers

Mayor Expands Search for 9/11 Remains (NY Daily News)

Hunt Will Go Block By Block (NY Daily News)

Mayor Expands Search for 9/11 Remains (NY Times)

Ground Zero was Completely Searched, Mayor Says (News 10 ABC)

The same could be said of most of the leads on the local newscasts.

Many of which had variations on

WTC Search Moves to Streets and Rooftops

We need to continue to get the truth about yesterday’s report out to all we can.

We cannot allow this inadequate search to continue.

Back in August of 2002 the city commissioned an independent study into the response to the attacks.

Mr. Skyler was involved with this as well.

Some of the findings were that

City or State governments must establish a formal effective process of interagency planning and coordination.

The lack of information hindered their ability to evaluate the overall situation.

and most importantly

Accountability needs to be increased at headquarters and in the field.

Maybe Mr. Skyler and the Mayor should apply these findings to the current search operation at Ground Zero instead of continuing with the hit or miss process that was presented yesterday.

The article in today’s Post is just the latest proof that human remains exist in areas that the newly proposed search will not cover

What we have been stating all along is finally making it into the mainstream media. We are hoping that one of the papers will follow up on the removal of debris from the sewers surrounding Ground Zero shortly after the towers fell. We must continue to push these issues or they will just continue to rebuild and then tell us it is too late.Unfortunately we will never know if any remains were lost or buried over during the construction of the transit hub.

If fill from the pit was used on the service road who is to say it wasn’t used during other construction at the site.

Spot checks of the service road and re-checks of the manholes and service boxes that “might” have been overlooked are not enough.

The theory that remains might only be found on 2 or 3 of the surrounding buildings is absurd.

We need a complete and strategic plan outlining a comprehensive search strategy.

We also need trained forensic experts doing the search not construction or utility workers.

We also need answers

Why was the service road constructed from fill from the site?

Who was contracted to build the road?

What is being done to hold the responsible party accountable?

Why can’t we see a detailed map of all of the manholes and utility boxes on and around the site? Not just the area where remains were found.

Why can’t we see a detailed report of when each was searched and what was recovered as well as what procedures were employed?

If experts have on numerous occasions shown that material from the site was thrown blocks away, why are we only searching the rooftops of a few buildings?

Why have we still not been told where the debris from the Deutche Bank Building is located? Is it because it like the fines at Fresh Kills it has already been sent to a landfill and mixed with garbage?

How do we get these and other questions answered?

Finally remember that Election Day is Tuesday 11/7.

Call your elected officials and candidates and tell them that you want them to stand with us on 11/2 and that we want them to support our efforts to bring JPAC in and once and for all develop a strategic plan leading to a comprehensive search by qualified forensic experts.
