With all of the talk recently about not funding the war effort and all of back and forth between the President and Congress we thought it might be interesting to re-visit one of our previous posts related to military spending (see link below).

Back in January 2006 we attempted to help the Fallen Heroes Fund and did some research and provided some recommendations.

Fortunately the Fallen Heroes Fund was able to get their funding from private sources and got their hospital built.

Unfortunately none of our recommendations were even considered.

We will try again with one simple request.

As part of the 5th Military Spending Bill there was $600 Million committed to building an embassy in Baghdad.

Has anyone done an audit to see if and how this money was spent?

For that matter has anyone done an audit on the over $400 Billion in military spending packages that have been approved since our involvement in Iraq began?

We find it hard to believe that with over $400 Billion spent we do not have enough remaining to properly take care of our troops when they come home.

Our request is simple:

We want an audit of the spending bills?

We want a public accountability of the results.

We want action taken based on the results.

One would think that an audit would be enough but we have found with the DHS as well as with 9/11 either they are never performed or no action is ever taken if they are and responsible parties are never held responsible.

We allow Dunkin Donut shops to be opened in Phoenix with 9/11 loans.

We allow contractors to continue to be awarded new contracts even when they fail to deliver or deliver faulty work and products.

And we continue to have no accountability.

But we continue to spend and the injured soldiers and sick responders continue to suffer.

Our Fallen Heroes No One Seems To Be Listening
