Two movies that are currently in production unfortunately show where we have come since 9/11

In the first “Postal” there is a scene that shows a window washer being killed as a jet airliner crashes into the World Trade Center.

In the second “Sicko” director Michael Moore films 9/11 first responders that were taken to Cuba for as he calls it “better medical treatment” then is being supplied by the US government.

The director of “Postal” feels that we have moved on enough to make fun of what happened on 9/11.

As we have always stated we are 100% behind free speech but there is a difference between what we choose to see or hear and what actually gets seen or heard.

Everyone has the right not to see “Postal” but with the internet this disturbing scene has already made its way into millions of homes. The fact that this scene is even being considered as part of the movie’s trailer will further expand the audience of people who will see this scene without going to see the movie.

It is hard to say how many relatives and more importantly children of 9/11 victims will fall into this category but the number will not be small.

These are the same victims that have already had to endure the tragic events of 9/11 thousands of times on TV and on the web.

Now movie makers feel they have moved on enough to see them with a humorous spin.

A very sad commentary indeed.

In “Sicko” the actions of the director Michael Moore are even worse as he uses 9/11 victims as pieces in his continuing attack on the US government.

Once again let us state that we believe that everyone has the right to an opinion but to use innocent victims to make your point is just not right.

Promising victims better treatment in Cuba to their 9/11 related illnesses is just taking advantage of the situation.

This is even made worse by the fact that the “better treatment” did not exist and that the participants were not healed only exploited.

Again a very sad commentary.

Why haven’t these same filmmakers turned their efforts to the events at Ground Zero since 9/11?

From when Christie Whitman declared the air quality acceptable shortly after 9/11 to today when five years later when remains are still being found.

What about the reasons behind:

Pulling the recovery workers off the site

Declaring the recovery effort complete without a review

Hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of personal items allegedly missing from the NYPD Property Department

A tracking system to identify remains in place but not being used

Allowing construction to continue outside the auspices of NYC Building and Fire codes.

Locations purposely avoided in both the first and second searches

Remains buried over in Fresh Kills

Over 1300 remains uncovered 5 years later over 300 from a haul road supposedly constructed from fresh fill

Over 1300 remains and no DNA matches

Over 1300 remains and we do not even know if any have been tested.

Arbitrary decisions on just about everything including the construction of the memorial and the placement of names.

No accountability for 9/11 loans, grants or LMDC expenses.

It seems like great material for a movie or at least a documentary.

But I guess the truth just doesn’t sell.

Put It Above Ground

You have said it all.

How sad it is that We as a Nation can not find more productive things to do.

For those who lost nothing that day, this was a "regular" day except that 4 planes tried to harm innocent citizens.

To these film makers that was "no big deal."

Their thought was that money could be made. Shame on the American public for supporting these folks.
