Maybe Iím Wrong But,

Why would you spend $2.5 Million to move the Survivorís Staircase to a temporary location where residents do not want it (see below) only to have to spend another $2.5 Million to move it to a permanent location when we have already provided a permanent location where it would become part of a permanent memorial?

Flap over ĎSurvivors Staircaseí

The following offer has gone unanswered

To Whom It May Concern,

We may have a possible solution that could save the Survivorís Staircase.

We are currently planning a Memorial Complex on Staten Island.

Phase I of our ďHearts and Hands ProjectĒ will include:

An exhibition hall with over 9,000 square feet of open floor space that will house the 16,000 square foot United in Memory 9/11 Victims Memorial Quilt

A Corridor of Memories over 250 feet long (nearly 3,000 square feet) that will include photos of all of the victims of the attacks and will include affiliation age and floor.

The ceiling of the corridor will be constructed with curved plexi-glass and will have the names of all of the victims etched into it in a completely random fashion.

Between the exhibition hall and corridor of memories will be a 21,000 square foot Memorial Garden.

Future phases of the complex will include:

A 9/11 Memorial Museum

A Public Library

A Veteranís Center

A Senior/Youth Center

All of these are existing buildings that have fallen into terrible disrepair and will need extensive renovation.

The Survivorís Staircase would be a welcomed addition to this complex and could become a permanent component.

We are currently in the planning stages and would be open to working the Staircase into our plans.

Please pass this on to the appropriate decision makers.

If there is interest they can contact me at 718-619-2371.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Maybe Iím Wrong But

How can the total number of human remains reported by the city be more than we are reporting if we get our daily numbers from them?

Their explanation does not make any sense for if they are reclassifying some potential remains as non human their numbers should be lower then ours.

Maybe Iím Wrong But

Do they really have a place for the recently donated trees at Ground Zero?

Last we heard was that the space originally allocated for this forested area will now be replaced by the design of the transit hub that requires glass to allow natural lighting.

Maybe Iím Wrong But

Should the taxpayers really have to pay for the Attorney General to defend the LMDC against a lawsuit from a rejected designer?

Maybe Iím Wrong But

It appears that this person has a legitimate case as the current Memorial Design ignores at least 4 elements required in their mission statement.
