On October 30th 2006 Mayor Bloomberg stated:

"We think it'll take a year to go through every single place that was, for reasons good or bad, accidental or deliberate, missed the last time, and we will go through every place so that the families can be assured that to the extent humanly possible, we've looked every place as carefully as we possibly could," said Mayor Michael Bloomberg. "But there's no guarantee that 10 years from now you wouldn't find something, that's just a fact of the size, the magnitude and the complexity of the problem."

On October 31, 2006 we responded:

While this is a step in the right direction it does not correct the situation.

It only includes locations that were on the original search plan. (which we have still not seen)

It does not expand the search beyond a few buildings

It does not expand the search above and beyond street level beyond the perimeter of the original search.

It does not have qualified forensic experts conducting the search.

Basically it is not enough.

Please join us at Ground Zero on Thursday November 2, at 12:30 PM as we call for a comprehensive and strategic search for remains conducted by qualified forensic experts to assure that we will not have to worry in ten years that something may have been missed.

Put It Above Ground

Just yesterday it was revealed that access ramps to the site were discovered during the excavation of the Haul Road and that these ramps under West Street would now have to be excavated as well.

If there was an original comprehensive search plan (which we doubt ever existed) and if the Mayor stated 5 months ago that that every space would be searched how were these access ramps missed.

Hasn't the city checked the original blueprints of the site to identify all possible conduits into and out of the site.

This should have been step one of the new search plan.

How many other conduits have been overlooked?

For months now we have been asking to see a copy of both the original search plan as well as the new search plan.

These requests have been ignored.

The logical conclusion is that they never existed.

The search continues on a hit or miss basis with the city hoping no hits.

This is why they delayed the excavation of the Haul Road and the area of the Greek Orthodox Church.

Does anyone else find it odd that they stopped the web cam about the same time they paved over the haul road?

Why was the paving of the road not made public until after it was completed?

Why was the expansion of the search to the church not made public?

What are they trying to hide?
