As of today the LMDC has suspended the use of the webcam at Ground Zero. Even though this was to record the entire rebuilding process with hourly photos the LMDC stated that the declining number of visitors to its website did not justify the cost.

Slowly but surely the LMDC will phase out all memories of the attacks while victim’s remains will still lie buried at the site and at Fresh Kills.

It may be coincidence but we had been using these photos for our nightly updates.

When I found the site no longer posting the photos I went to Google Earth and did an aerial view.

What really stood out were the ramps leading down to the “Pit”

If the haul road was constructed from material from the pit (as we contend) there is a good possibility that the ramps were too.

There has been no mention of the ramps being excavated.

With the number of finds drastically increasing as the search moves further south along the haul road (50 remains found this past week) it makes the city’s contention that these were a few items that accidentally fell from trucks sound even more absurd.

The fact that an investigation into the construction of the road has not been opened speaks volumes about the seriousness, or lack of, which the city has taken with the current search.

Add that to the fact that every elected official and every member of the media refuses to address the alleged missing cash and personal items from the site at the NYPD Property Department just goes to show that as the article claims fewer and fewer people seem interested in what is going on.

We need a Dana Priest to step forward here in New York and stand up to the current administration.

Make them explain how they could have missed 163 human remains (so far) and two giant steel columns in the haul road.

Make them produce documentation proving that the road was constructed with Fresh Fill (and not just charged for it)

Ask them why they are not using the inventory system at the NYPD Property Department to identify remains.

Ask them why the city is not publishing what else it is finding in the haul road. (is it because it will make them look even worse?)

Ask them why not even one DNA match has been made from any of the 1138 remains found over the past year.

Better yet ask them if anything has even been tested.

Unfortunately we seem to be the only ones asking these questions.

Whatever happened to the Gerson resolution in the City Council calling for JPAC?

Whatever happened to all those who said they would never forget?

At this rate it makes sense to have the Memorial museum underground at least it will be close to the remains that most certainly will still be there when the site is completed.

Just remember what George Santayana said:

“Our character...is an omen of our destiny, and the more integrity we have and keep, the simpler and nobler that destiny is likely to be.”
