From Tue Jan 23, 2007 2:00 am to Thu Jan 25, 2007 1:59 am (included)
|There were no human remains found at the site or at 11 Water Street
The Mayor was in Washington today at a summit to discuss gun control.
At the summit the Mayor stated:
"That's why we came to Washington for this summit, not only to share strategies and best practices, but also to begin showing Congress that it is possible to find common ground on common sense issues and common sense ideas,"
It is ironic that the Mayor is preaching common sense and hoping to share strategies and best practices when none of these have been employed in the current search for remains at Ground Zero.
Once again it is the “Do as I say, not as I do” policy that has been the problem all along.
From the original search, to the memorial, to the placement of names to the current search the administration has fought all of our requests tooth and nail.
They should realize by now we are not going away until things are done right.
Hopefully tomorrow you will join Edie Lutnick and other family members and union leaders to present a common sense solution to the placement of names on the Memorial.
September 11th Families News Conference 1/24
We have been asking the mayor to share strategies with JPAC.
We have been asking for best practices.
For months we have been attempting to find common ground on common sense issues and common sense ideas at Ground Zero.
Why does there continue to be a double standard when dealing with Ground Zero?
It just doesn’t make sense.
