|Not much to report as very little activity.
The machine operators continue to break ground on the trench but no searching is going on.
All of the material from the manholes that has been search is still at the site.
The material from manholes 3 and 4 has not been touched and is still at the site as is any other material removed prior to the trench.
The plan is to sift through this material once the Water Street is operational.
Although no one is stating it publicly it appears that the sifted material will once again wind up at Fresh Kills.
Is it only us but doesnít anyone else think that its odd that they are taking such care of the material from this search but will not even let us know where the sifted material from 130 Liberty wound up.
Makes you think that it was just discarded as debris and sent out with the garbage.
If it was separated then why canít we know where it is located?
Still no response from Councilman Gerson on the resolution.
We will call tomorrow.
Our sources tell us that there is an internal NYPD investigation going on.
This is being denied.
We will keep up the pressure for an independent outside investigation.
