|No recoveries and we do not expect any over the next few weeks.
They are not even digging the trench to the original West Side Highway.
All they are doing is basically breaking ground and preparing for future excavation.
Nothing more to report from the site as it appears they do not want to continue until Water Street is available.
Then it will be the Holiday and then bad weather.
All just stalling tactics.
No activity tomorrow or Sunday.
We have not heard back from Gersonís office and it may be time to get another Council member to submit the resolution as we need this done prior to the full Community Board 1 Meeting on 12/19.
If anyone has suggestions please let us know.
Speaking of the 12/19 meeting we need a show of force.
While we know that it is the Holiday season we need to have you set aside the time and stand with us at the meeting.
Please RSVP to info@where-to turn.org
As you know they started to dismantle 130 Liberty today. This even though there have been spikes in toxins in the air that have gone ignored.
Also we have heard nothing about the remains found over 6 months ago nor have they told us where the debris from the site is being sent.
If the material from Ground Zero is being brought to an off site location for inspection why isnít the same process being used at 130 Liberty.
Again it is the total lack of formal protocol. We have been asking to see the protocols that are being followed but have been ignored.
Finally just one more heads up on the personal property front. We have been told that despite denials there is an internal investigation going on.
Our calls for an independent investigation into the alleged missing cash (over $750,000) and jewelry have gone unanswered.
It continues to amaze that the media is not all over this.
We will continue our efforts on all of these fronts even if it requires legal action.
It appears that may be our only option.
Put It Above Ground
