|Another day with no recoveries.
The NYPD team is being very careful as much of the recently recovered material is severely contaminated with asbestos.
The going is very slow as they are taking all of the appropriate precautions.
The strategy has once again changed.
They are now going to precede with manholes 3 and 4 near the service bridge.
They will then coordinate the drilling of the test pits.
This is actually the way they should have proceeded all along as they should complete one phase before moving to the next.
By excavating and searching these manholes the team can complete phase one and then coordinate the remainder of the plan.
No explanation as to why there is all of a sudden no concern about the structural integrity of the bridge.
There will be a meeting on Water Street Monday to discuss further details.
Still no answer on how or why the depths of the test drillings were selected.
No answer on our call for an outside investigation into the personal items process (extremely disappointed in the lack of media coverage of this)
It is also odd that we have not heard back anything from the ME about the remains from the Deutche Bank building. It has been six months.
It is very apparent that they will do all in their power to avoid excavating the service road.
We may request copies of the original construction plan.
More on this Monday.
No search activity tomorrow.
