|Another 0 day as the searchers are getting a bit impatient as they have not been allowed to search through anything but clean fill.
They had thought they would be allowed to search in the manholes at levels where the original remains were found but that was not the case today.
Almost 100% sure that they will be finished with the clean fill early tomorrow and get to levels where remains have been found early tomorrow afternoon..
Testing has come back on samples and DEP and OSHA have stated that they are free of contaminants.
The LMCCC has called a meeting with all parties involved with the recovery effort (except for family members) tomorrow at 3:30 PM
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss moving the testing facilities of site because with current construction there is no room for it on the 16 acre site.
For those who are not familiar with the LMCCC
The Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center (LMCCC), established by executive orders issued by New York Governor George E. Pataki and New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg in November 2004, is charged with coordination and general oversight of all Lower Manhattan construction projects worth more than $25 million south of Canal Street.
The LMCCC’s mission, set forth by the executive orders, is to facilitate construction activities, mitigate their impacts on the community, and communicate with the public about the effects of the work taking place.
So basically we have an agency whose primary mission is to facilitate construction activities passing themselves off as forensic recovery experts.
It also continues to amaze how this agency and the LMDC before it have continued to violate their mission statements and never have had to answer for it.
We guess that over 200 human remains found on city property after 5 years have no impact on the community.
Also when was the last time anyone has received anything from the
LMCCC informing them of what is going on.
If they were doing their job we would not have to have these daily updates.
But they are running the show and this meeting tomorrow.
Plans are still to work through Saturday. No recovery efforts are scheduled for Sunday.
We will continue to keep you posted.
