|The reason that there were no additional finds yesterday was that there was a concern that the soil was contaminated so the operation was shut down awaiting results.
The results came back negative.
The material was returned to Ground Zero from 29 Street.
5 additional bones have been found so far.
Only one of the 10 areas has been completely searched and reviewed at
There have also been concerns raised about the road that was paved over these manholes as it appears that in some areas that instead of clean fill the fill used might have been soil and material from the site.
If this is proven to be true this will call into question the actual creation of these roads and all other roads at the site.
Another concern is that it appears that there was never a mapping done of all of the manholes and sewers at or surrounding the site.
It is possible that there are numerous other manholes buried under the fill that have never been searched.
Also it does not appear that the sewer systems throughout the site were searched.
A comprehensive plan for the search of all of these areas needs to be designed.
There is a meeting scheduled with the city officials Port Authority Officials as well as whoever is now in charge of operations at the site tomorrow.
Hopefully this will be open to the public as well or at least open to 9/11 family groups.
With each passing day it is more and more apparent that there was never a strategic recovery plan.
We need JPAC to come in and develop and implement such a plan.
More to follow.
