|AT LEAST SOMEONE IS LISTENING
October 16th, 2006
The following letter was written to Mike Kelly of the Bergen Record in response to his article of 10/8
What they don’t speak about at Ground Zero
as well as his response.
I just read your October 8, 2006 column about what they dont talk about
at Ground Zero, sent to me by my brother Lt. Jim McCaffrey, FDNY
(Advocates for a 9/11 Fallen Heroes Memorial), and I want to thank you
from the depth of my soul….is that too dramatic? I think
Catherine - Thank you so much for your kind note. You are not being too dramatic. I spent weeks at Ground Zero, in the wonderful company of fire fighters and cops, so I know first-hand what happened there — and how little was found. As a journalist, I find it unbelievable that our public servants do not want to pay attention to the issue of human remains. At the very least, I believe we should bury our dead properly, as best we can. I am no going to let go of this issue. So please stay in touch.
All the best,
