STATEN ISLAND CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING
The Staten Island Center for Independent Living (SICIL) encourages people with any type of disability and any age to contact us for services, advocacy, and information. No referral is needed - just call us. We focus on residents of Staten Island, but residency is not required. We work with adults and children with disabilities and their families. We provide technical assistance on access and employment, accommodations to businesses and organizations. |

STATEN ISLAND CHAMBER MUSIC PLAYERS INC.
Founded in 1974, The SICMP is the first and longest-running professional resident-based musical organization and a treasured Staten Island experience. From nature's cathedral-like setting of High Rock Park to the historic Snug Harbor Cultural Center, its music has been characterized by a commitment to artistic principles, by the intellectual integrity of good works, and by its educational and community outreach program, Project Uplift. Nearly 60 concerts are scheduled annually, serving over 14,000 people a year through live performances with a selfless devotion to literary, educational and charitable activities. Year after year, friends bring friends to hear The Chamber Players and bask in its warmth and comfort. Is a self-supporting program of the S.I. Mental Health Society, Inc. SICTA focuses on building self-esteem and positive mental health by teaching children the value of commitment and teamwork, while developing their creative resources, socialization and communication skills. STATEN ISLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY-HISTORIC RICHMOND TOWN
The Staten Island Historical Society, in partnership with the City of New York operates Historic Richmond Town, the only living history village in the five boroughs. Throughout the year, the Historical Society provides educational and cultural programming for all segments of the metropolitan area--with a particular emphasis on programs for schoolchildren. Costumed interpreters and craftspeople re-enact 19th century daily life. Special events include the Richmond County Fair, tavern concerts, commemorations of Black History Month and Women's History Month and seasonal celebrations. During October, the Historical Society also offers pumpkin picking at its Decker Farm site, the last private working farm in New York City. |

STATEN ISLAND MENTAL HEALTH SOCIETY
When families are in need of the highest quality services for their children who may have emotional disturbances, behavioral disorders, developmental challenges, chemical addictions, or a range of other mental health problems, they turn to the Staten Island Mental Health Society (SIMHS.org) for help.
The SIMHS is a private, not-for-profit agency that provides comprehensive mental health and related services to Staten Island children who are emotionally or behaviorally disturbed, developmentally or learning disabled, neurologically impaired, dependent on alcohol or drugs, and/or economically disadvantaged. Our goal is to help these children and their families improve the quality of their lives and enhance their futures. |
